DESIGN CHARACTERISTICS

Nutek's Pneumatic Restrictor Valves are manufactured and operate similarly to Pneumatic Check Valves except that they provide metered flow in the restricted or checking direction and free flow in the other. For this reason, they are sometimes referred to as Restrictor Check Valves.

Compact size, lightweight and unusually good free flow characteristics are particular advantages of these valves. In all sizes, free flow pressure drops are equal to or below that of equivalent lengths of straight tubing. All valve parts are precision machined. These valves use a spring-loaded poppet, precision drilled to the required orifice size. During free flow, poppet action bypasses the flow around the orifice as well as the filter in filtered types. Filter types use a screen type or cartridge filter for orifice protection in the restricted flow direction.

Concentricity between housings and poppets is held to 0.001" or less to preclude any possibility of binding and to insure fast, tight, uniform seating of poppets under all conditions. All Pneumatic Restrictor Valves are manufactured, assembled, tested and inspected to aerospace quality standards.
